The end of 2008

OK its the last day of the year and here I am thinking of some goals for my own scrapping for 2009.

My goals need to be realistic and need to include my DT work for Scrapping Around, but I also want to challenge myself a little if I can.

So this is what I would like to achive for my personal goals :-

Layouts:- 1 a week so thats 52 for the year

Cards:- 1 a week so again thats 52 (for family and friends)

OTP'S:- Create 1 a month so thats 12 for 2009

Photos :- Take atleast 1 photo a week of something different. Now for me this isnt an easy one but I think its achivable. By different I mean something that catches my eye or even a new purchase for our home.

Scrap my stash before I buy new items...now thats going to be a tough one what with all the new products around.

I also want to learn how to use Paintshop elements 3 better.

Submit layouts to a few blogs and maybe a few mags just to see how I go.

Be a better blogger...been good so far butr hey we all know how time can slip by when things in RL happen.

Here are just a few items I have finished over the last few days of 2008 that I thought I should share with you all.

1st Christmas

This is the layout I created over the last 2 days of Isacc's 1st Santa photo.

I have used:-White Bazzill cardstock
Black gel pen
Rainbow Kindy Glitz
Dimentional Magic
Silver Rhinestones - Kaiser
Christmas tree and word chipboard from Crafty Originals.
1st chipboard alphas from American Crafts
Christmas Spirit - JOLLY paper
Christmas Spirit JOYFUL paper from Kaisercrafts

I cut the baubles out and used Scrapdots to 3D them.I ran the chipboar through my Xyron machine before I inked and DMed them. I left it on the adhesive backing to dry which I found pretty easy and saved making more mess on my craft matt.
On the Christmas tree and word I used Stampin' up! inks they were Old Olive for the tree and Blue Bayou for the word. Then I coated the whole lot with DM and added a little Rainbow Kindy Glitz to the tree once it was dry.
1st apha number and letters just had a little Rainbow Kindy Glitz added.
With my black gel pen I just doodled around the photo and on the sides of the paper.

I realised earlier while reading my own posts, that I hadn't shared photos of Sam and I decorating the tree the day before she was due to give birth..........

so here it is.And here is the finished tree lights and all. I so loveeee my angel lights mind you there are 4 sets on the tree. LOL

Look at what the truely sweet Janine left me this aftrernoon on my blog. I sure do feel special this afternoon thats for sure:) Be sure to go pop on over to Janine's Blog and check out her amazing layouts. http://janinekennedy.blogspot.com/

For this award you must:
1. You have to pass it on to 5 other fabulous blogs.
2. You have to list 5 of your fabulous addictions.
3. On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link back to their blog.

So here are my five fabulous additions:-
Addiction 1 - My family and friends for without them I wouldn't be me at all.
Addiction 2 - My beautiful new grandson Isacc he is just so precious to all of us.
Addiction 3 - Coffee yep I can't start the day without that at all.
Addiction 4 - Scrapbooking hmm maybe that should have been at the top but hey my family always come 1st...LOL
Addiction 5 - Ok this is a tough one as its a toss up between my camera (what would I scrap without that?), My car ...it's my lifeline and allows me to visit my mum in Ballarat or my mobile.
Hmm think I would say my car has to be the top one out of those 3 ROFL.

Not a lot going on at the moment

Life is a little frustrating at the moment as we are waiting on the arrival of our 1st grandchild. Bubs is now 4 days over due :(

I must say I do feel for Sam as she was over being pregnant about 4 to 6 weeks ago now.
Mind you Sam herself arrived 3 days past her due date so maybe she was setting a trend LOL.
Today I want to wish a couple of friends of ours a very Happy Birthday.
They are LUKE he is turning 14 and Mousey (Kylie) hope you both have the best of days today.
Well I am off to make a couple more decorations for our new Christmas tree so will share them with you in a bit. Hope to have them done by this evening but you never know what today may bring do you.
Take care till next time.

New Scrapping Toy

Today I got my new scrappbooking toy. I am finally the proud owner of the Sizzix BIGkick.
I love the pink and white that this machine can in thats for sure. And I have so many of the older Sizzix dies that it isn't funny at all. Just didn't use them for ages as my Big Red Sizzix machine had been well and truly over worked. Now I will be able to use the cuttlebug embossing folders that I have with ease instead of being frustrated that the folders wont fit lenght ways into the machine.

I so love the fact that with this machine I am able to use other brands of die cuts. Yes I am sure it will void the manufacturers warranty for the Cuttlebug Embossing folders but hey I will be very very careful using them.

Have just been on Scrapping Around and they now stock lots and lots of the Cuttlebug embossing folders so that will be my next purchase this evening and I don't have to leave the house to get them :)
