The Amazing Scrap Race

Starts 4th April till 15th of August.

Well it's on again ladies but with a twist or 2!!

This year we will be running the Amazing Scrap Race competition as it was run last year but there will be a second parallel competition for people who get sent home. This means that there will be two lots of prizes at the completion of the race!! Plus we will also be giving away fortnightly prizes.

  • Each fortnight we will post a challenge. The challenge will be posted on every second Friday evening for the duration of the race, and you then have 13 days to get your entry into the gallery by midnight of the Thursday two weeks after the challenge is posted.
  • The DT will vote on the Friday to determine who stays on the main leg of our race and who will leave for home.
  • The number being voted off the Amazing Scrap Race each week will depend on sign up numbers.
  • The winners of each fortnight will be posted on the Friday evening along with the next race challenge.
  • Once again we will be running a points system. You will get 5 points for every layout entered (maximum of 2 layouts per person), 5 points each time you come 1st in each leg of the race, 4 points for second and 3 point for third, 2 points for 4th and 1 point for 5th place.
  • Each round the DT and I will not only be voting for who stays on the main race but also for first, second, third, fourth and fifth on both The main race and the home race.
  • The winners each fortnight on both The main race and the home race will win a $10 voucher, second place will win a $5 voucher and third, fourth and fifth a gift in the mail as well as earning points for their totals.
  • The points will be used to determine who will be the winners and runner ups on The main race and the home race.

Just sharing a couple of Layouts and an Idea

Layout Share for this week.
A moment in time is the layout I created about 2 weeks ago now for our weekly challenge the chalenge was to use doodling on your page.
I used A TLC runway kit called Tressie circles Kit but i changed the cardstock background colour as the blue was a bit too bright for my liking.

100% Boy
This Layout was created as part of the last weekends CC at Scrapping Around. It was a blind step -by-step challenge and was a whole lot of fun. I did have a few fears of it not working out as I knew this was the photo I wanted to use and these were the papers and colours. But you know not seeing what it might have looked like till after the steps were done does give one something to think about.

I used the following items on this Layout:-
Kaiser paper:- Lone Ranger collection - Shotgun P1283 5cm paper flowers in Taupe from green taraKaiser Rubons -Seals SB549100% boy chipboard word from ScrapletsStonewash Bazzill cardstock2 TLC heart stickers.Grungeboard Elements Stipes - Heart3D Kindy Glitz - Slick White on centres of flowerKidy Glitz - Crystalina on flower petals and Grungeboard heart.
For more great layouts from this challenge check out the gallery album.

Love me, Love my cat.
Monochomatic Orange well thats a colour I dont use much of at all. Not sure why as it isn't a colour I dont like. But our cat is ginger and these photos are 12mths old and were waiting in line nicely to be scrapped.

I have used:- Bazzill Apricot CS.
TLC Orange Thin Strip paper
Orange Butterflies Flozz Felt from KaiserCRAFT
Bella chipboard letters
2 Cream flowers from Green Tara that I inked Orange.
Mod podge sparkle on the chipboard letters.
Some Orange Dome stickers from my stash.

Besides the dome stickers you will find all the other products at Scrapping Around.
101 uses for a paper towel holder???
Well no not really but here is another use for one LOL. I saw this on scrapbook clubhouse and thought what a cool idea I will adapt that to my own needs and as we all know those Clip It storage ideas are fantastic but not something I would want to spend heaps on. I would rather by more paper and cardstock so I can scrap. This little beauty costed a total of $10.00 once you add the cost of the coloured cardboard I bought. Now I just went to the newsagent and bought a few thick sheets that I liked. But you can use chipboard if you have it on hand, and I am sure there would be other things you can think of to use. These inserts do help the A4 protector sheets stay upright.

So far I have 30 Protector sheets with plenty of room to add more as you can see.

My name...

We have a what makes me me challenge going on at Scrapping Around. So I did a google search on my name, found out where my name originated from and it's meaning which I am putting on my layout. The I found this...

What Monique Means
You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!
You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life. You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.
You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
People see you as a complete enigma, and only you truly understand who you are.You spend most of your time introspecting and seeking truth. You're a very interesting person... but not many people know you enough to realize it.
You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life. You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

Not sure if this is really me but then again not sure if it's not me either so maybe someone whom knows me well will answer that question for me one day.

Have fun with this one too.

My scrapping space is clean and I can find things so it's time to de-cluter my on line life so I am moving all my personal blogs into on and keeping them with my business blogs so I know where I am going. Well thats the aim of this blog.

I will tell you now what whith running an on-line store, classes at home, classes at our local community centre tarting soon, you are bound to not see me post on all 3 blogs but I will now be able to spread it all and place it all in the right blog for you to read.

I have decided to do a couple of posts today here as they cover different things and I being the organised person I am ....NOT thought it would be better to just have seperate posts so you will see them in the side and be able to follow what you like.
